At the end of february, or better with beginning of march, we start to grow our own tomatoes. However, there are always some uncertainties: Either we are experimenting with tomato slices, waiting impatiently for the first green to flash out of the earth. Or we use seeds, which we were happy to buy in good time; months later, the sachet lettering was no longer legible! Well, this year there will be either vine, beef or cherry tomatoes…
The tomato plant found its way to Europe around 1492 after Columbus found the way to America. and so Augsburg merchants brought them to the citty – but I would be happy to tell you about personally when guided tours are possible again.
