There are some risks…
Sun is good for the little plants. Nevertheless, there are numerous dangers in the open air: the leaves do not like water from above, nor do tomatoes tolerate ground frost.
By the way, birds should not be underestimated when building a nest: Fortunately, this blackbird was only targeting the earth, for this, removing two centimeters of the potting soil…
Those who fear the ice saints for example, will find plants and tomatoes on the surrounding farmers’ markets, and since 8 October 1930 on the central Augsburg city market. I would be happy to tell you personally how the history of the city markets developed in the centuries before on a guided tour.

mysterious seedlings
At the end of february, or better with beginning of march, we start to grow our own tomatoes. However, there are always some uncertainties: Either we are experimenting with tomato slices, waiting impatiently for the first green to flash out of the earth. Or we use seeds, which we were happy to buy in good time; months later, the sachet lettering was no longer legible! Well, this year there will be either vine, beef or cherry tomatoes…
The tomato plant found its way to Europe around 1492 after Columbus found the way to America. and so Augsburg merchants brought them to the citty – but I would be happy to tell you about personally when guided tours are possible again.
